Scent-training lessons are included with our “Flipper-Fundamental” (3-month) and “Whale-Versed” (6-month) Service Dog Training Programs. Note: for those lessons, you may be working with a second trainer who specializes in scentwork rather than the trainer you do the majority of your lessons with.

If you would like to complete only a scent-training program, the cost is $1,260 for the 5-lesson package, which includes the standard materials. You’ll meet weekly with our scentwork specialist during that time. The standard materials will be sent directly to you after you pay the program deposit.

Medical Alert Disclaimer:

Before engaging in any scent-training activities with your dog for medical alert purposes, it is crucial to consult with qualified medical professionals and veterinarians. They can provide personalized advice based on your specific medical condition and your dog’s health and temperament.

While scent-trained dogs have shown impressive capabilities in detecting medical conditions, their accuracy can vary. Dogs are living beings influenced by factors such as health, environment, distractions, and training consistency.

Scent-trained dogs can complement medical care, but should never replace it. If you suspect a medical emergency, always seek immediate medical attention from a qualified healthcare provider.

Scent-training is an ongoing process that requires regular practice and reinforcement. Even well-trained scent dogs can experience fluctuations in their abilities over time. Regular training sessions and evaluations are essential to maintain accuracy.

Not all dogs are suitable candidates for medical alert scent-training. Factors such as breed, age, temperament, and health conditions can influence a dog’s ability to effectively perform medical alerts.

Engaging in scent-training for medical alerts involves inherent risks. You assume full responsibility for any outcomes that arise from the training and use of your scent-trained dog for medical alerts.
